An examination of bills championed by Barack Obama uncovers impressive evidence of his character and ability. And he didn't just sponsor these bills - he got them passed despite a Republican majority, the fears of his Democratic peers that they would not appear "tough" enough, and two instances (only one mentioned here, but see also his success getting racial profiling laws on the books) where he faced fierce opposition from police unions.
