Obama blasts shadow fundraising group

Obama comes right out and recommends that Democrats stop funding 527s, groups like the "Swift Boat Veterans" who torpedoed Kerry in '04 (and for that matter MoveOn.org though it's not mentioned). He points out they get around campaign contribution limits and asks that everyone who wants to support his campaign do so through official channels with the official campaign where everything is transparent. Obama sees this as the best way to improve campaign financing until better campaign finance laws are passed. Several such groups have formed to support Obama but they've been soundly and publicly rejected as efforts separate from the campaign.
